Helix vs a chatbot, a course, and another app.
We looked. There is not a competing AI process atlas for QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, NetSuite, and the rest. Here is what people buy instead — and what Helix actually names on a ledger.
What people buy instead
Nothing else is this atlas
There is not a second Helix. People substitute a chatbot, a course, a consultant hour, or another app. Those cost more over a year — and still do not map native AI on the ledger you run.
| Option | Typical cost | What you get | What you still don’t have |
|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT / Claude subscription | $20/mo · ~$240/year | A general chatbot. You still have to know which QBO button to press. | No ledger map. No native-vs-partner. Invents a second bank-feed app if you let it. |
| A consultant hour | $200–$400 per hour | One conversation about your file. | Not written down as a living atlas. Next year’s new Intuit agent is another hour. |
| “AI for accountants” course | $300–$2,000 once | Slides and a certificate. | Not mapped to the software you actually run. Not setups. Not your stack. |
| Numeric / close software | From ~$30/user/month | A close product — if close is the job. | Does not tell you QBO bank feeds are already native, or that two AP inboxes double-post. |
| Buying Dext + BILL + Ramp blind | Hundreds / month, forever | More apps on the stack. | The map of which job is already in the ledger. That waste is the problem Helix is for. |
| Blank process-mapping (Miro, etc.) | From ~$8/user/month | An empty board you draw yourself. | The atlas of what each accounting platform already ships. |
| Helix for my business | $349 once | The map for the one ledger you name. Visual tool map, native AI, setups, 90-day sequence. 1 bookkeeper seat. | Does not log into QuickBooks or your bank. Does not replace the books. |
| Helix Atlas | $990 once | Every platform. 5 named seats for the firm. One playbook per file. | Still not a second GL. Accountants still review. |
What the license actually names
Specific examples — not a brochure
QuickBooks Online
Bank feeds
Already native in Banking. Helix tells a single business not to buy a second Plaid-class app.
QuickBooks Online
Accounting Agent
Fall 2026: categorizes and fills missing detail. Helix names the reviewer — the agent does not sign the file.
QuickBooks Online
Two AP inboxes
Snap + BILL on the same mailbox double-posts. The map picks one inbox and the setup button for it.
Xero
JAX
Just Ask Xero is now standard on plans. Helix says: check the saved report before it goes to a board pack.
Sage Intacct
Copilot vs dimensions
Do not buy Copilot and skip dimension design. Sequence is dimensions, then Copilot, then a close tool — not all three as the system of record.
Numeric
On QuickBooks Online
Connect only after weekly rec and one AP inbox. TB sync, not NetSuite-depth. AI drafts flux; journals post in QBO. MCP last.
